Earlier today, Crunchyroll announced that idol group 22/7 (nanabun no nijyuuni) will attend this year’s convention as guests. Kanae Shirosawa (CV: Akane Maruyama), Ruri Umino (CV: Jun Toda), and Sally Amaki (CV: Sakura Fujima) will be present at the event. The trio will host a pair of panels at the con, in addition to appearing at the con’s Thursday night kick-off party.
22/7 is an idol project frm Aniplex and Sony Music Records, which kicked off in 2017. The group is produced by AKB48 founder Yasushi Akimoto, and blends elements of anime with real-life idols via technological presentations, and character designs by known figures in the industry. Since their inception, the group has worked to grow its following via musical performances and Virtual YouTuber presentations.
22/7 will receive an anime project in January 2020.
Crunchyroll Expo will be held from August 30 through September 1 at the San Jose Convention Center.
