“A Destructive God Sits Next to Me” Anime’s Theme Songs Announced


A Destructive God Sits Next to Me Anime Visual Earlier today, the official A Destructive God Sits Next to Me anime website updated with details on the show’s theme songs. Singing duo “all at once” will perform the show’s opening theme, which is untitled as of press time. Idol group AŌP will handle closing theme song Freedom de Muda ni Muteki!!.

Freedom de Muda ni Muteki!! will be released on CD single on March 18, following a launch on digital storefronts on January 13.

A Destructive God Sits Next to Me will hit Japanese TV on January 11. The full premiere schedule is as follows (all times JST):

  • AT-X: 1/11/2020 at 21:00 (1/11/2020 at 9:00PM)
  • Tokyo MX: 1/12/2020 at 22:00 (1/12/2020 at 10:00PM)
  • BS Fuji: 1/13/2020 at 24:00 (1/14/2020 at Midnight)

The series will stream on Crunchyroll.

A Destructive God Sits Next to Me Anime VisualAtsushi Nigorikawa (Love Tyrant) will direct the series at studio EMT Squared, with Yuki Nakano providing character designs. Natsuko Takahashi (Cutie Honey Universe, My Love Story!!) is in charge of series composition.

Arata Aki’s A Destructive God Sits Next to Me manga launched in the pages of Media Factory’s Monthly Comic Gene in January 2013. The series currently spans ten compiled volumes, with the latest hitting stores on October 25, 2018.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

Seri Koyuki is a high school student who tries to avoid strange people because he knows he will just end up being the the straight man to their antics. Enter Kabuto Hanadori, Koyuki’s classmate who has chūnibyō (second-year middle school syndrome) and claims his eyepatch seals his god of destruction alter ego. Everything about Hanadori exudes the need for a straight man to keep him in check, and sure enough Koyuki is drawn in.
