Earlier this week, a brand new 97-second trailer for the upcoming winter 2020 anime series Darwin’s Game launched on Twitter. The new trailer not only shows off some major story points but at the 45-second mark, the theme song sung by ASCA titled “CHAIN” is previewed.


Yoshinobu Tokumoto (Comic Girls) will direct the project at studio Nexus, with Kazuya Nakanishi providing character designs. Series co-creator Shū Miyama is in charge of series composition for the title.

Kenichiro Suehiro will score the series’ soundtrack.


Three new cast members were confirmed:

  • Rain: Nichika Omori
  • Ryūji: Taku Yashiro
  • Sui/Sōta: Yumiri Hanamori

Darwin’s Game will hit Japanese TV in January 2020. Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, Yomiuri TV, TV Aichi, BS11, and AT-X are confirmed to be carrying the series, while AbemaTV will stream.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Kaname: Yūsuke Kobayashi
  • Shuka: Reina Ueda

FLIPFLOPS’ Darwin’s Game manga launched in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine in December 2012. Eighteen volumes have been released to date, with the most recent hitting stores on July 8.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

An unknowing Sudou Kaname is invited to try out a new mysterious mobile app game called “Darwin’s Game”, but later realizes that he’s in for more than he’s bargained for when he finds out that there’s no way to “quit” the game.
