Samantha Ferreira: Hi everyone, and welcome to the Herald Anime Club! I’m Samantha, and I’m here with Anthony Simpson
Anthony Simpson: Evening
Samantha Ferreira: Tonight, we’re heading back to the Well… or are we? for ID:INVADED episode 9: “With regards to Inception”
And tonight… wow. This episode was just a detail bomb
Anthony Simpson: There was so much here I don’t know where to begin
Samantha Ferreira: I guess we should talk about Narihisago getting a do-over in this virtual world. Like… that point where he woke up and hugged his family was just cathartic
Anthony Simpson: So much so.
Samantha Ferreira: Seeing him redo the Challenger murder, and learning who Kaeru is… good lord there’s so much to unpack
Anthony Simpson: I have to say as graphic as that fight was with the Challenger I am glad they did not hold back just in the sheer violence of the fight.
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed. The choice of music was fantastic, too – really captured the raw energy of the momen. On that note, we now know that Kiki Anzai is Kaeru, and that Sakaido/Anaido/Detective #3 are going through her dreams.
Anthony Simpson: That part interested me the most in how they are going through her dreams
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise. Which makes me wonder if she’s being kept in a coma somewhere now
Anthony Simpson: My guess is she is. If I had to guess where probably with the Police somewhere secure.
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed. And no doubt that Momoki knew about it. Now, we also learned that Johnny Walker was basically the FIRST one to discover Kaeru/Kiki
Anthony Simpson: Oh course what remains who is Johnny Walker. I wonder if the fact that they shows John Walker as a guy with white long hair and beard is dropping a hint that the bad Santa is John Walker .
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed. I mean, he’s the only one that makes sense in all o htis.
Anthony Simpson: I would shocked if it was someone else.
Samantha Ferreira: I wouldn’t, but at the same time, I want to know who walks around dressed like a damn whisky mascot now That said: I’m kind of wondering where Hondomachi is in all of this.
Anthony Simpson: In another ID Well I would imagine.
Samantha Ferreira: Yeah… I’m hoping we see that next week.
Anthony Simpson: So we met another serial killer this week and Narihisago convincing him to kill him self.
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed. The face-slicer. He must’ve been the first one Narihisago killed in the clink, too – the guy just… straight up murdered himself.
That said: I feel bad on Kiki – the last thing we see is her just waking up from her dream through brutal murder.
Anthony Simpson: Feel the same way
Samantha Ferreira: This whole episode was just… surreal and nightmarish, in a great way.
Anthony Simpson: I have to say watching Narihisago’s wife commit suicide in the tub is unsettling.
Samantha Ferreira: Yeeeah. The ending was so great, too. “If I’m dead, it’s a dream”
Samantha Ferreira: Any final thoughts this week?
Anthony Simpson: I’m curious now to see how this is all going to come together now that we are getting close to the end of series.
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise. There’s just so much building up I hope they can stick the landing
Anthony Simpson: I certainly hope so or I will be disappointed greatly.
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise Anyway, that’s all the time we have this week. Til next time, remember: Dreams are like grains of sand… countless and often annoying. Have a great night, everybody!
Anthony Simpson: Goodnight
