Samantha Ferreira: Hi everyone, and welcome to the Herald Anime Club. I’m Samantha, and I’m here with Anthony and L.B.
L.B. Bryant: Hello
Anthony Simpson: Evening
Samantha Ferreira: And this week, we’re back to the spooky, scary world of… *checks notes* popular music with Zombie Land Saga episode 4: The One Where Sunglasses Gets Punched In The Dick
L.B. Bryant: lol I like your title more than the official one
Samantha Ferreira: lol – right? Dude had it coming, too
L.B. Bryant: Yeah he did
Anthony Simpson: He deserved every bit of it
Samantha Ferreira: That said, this is probably the episode where everything finally starts to gel. Lots of great moments with the cast, Tatsumi being Tatsumi, some zambo antics for good measure…
Anthony Simpson: I loved the zombie antics.
Samantha Ferreira: Same. The pacing was just amazing. That poor old lady, though.
Anthony Simpson: I felt bad for her.
L.B. Bryant: That was probably my favorite part of the episode :)
Samantha Ferreira: I’m kind of torn. The part with the patches was also pretty funny
Anthony Simpson: The patches part was great.
Samantha Ferreira: Right down to the big disclaimers “administering patches to anyone not a zombie is technically practicing medicine without a license”
L.B. Bryant: That was bizarre to me that they had to put up that disclaimer. Is that like a real law in Japan or was it just a gag? I’m honestly not sure.
Samantha Ferreira: I’m not sure, but I’d assume so? They were pretty adamant every time that happened.
L.B. Bryant: heh alright, I was just curious.
Samantha Ferreira: I really liked the little whirlwind tour they went on, also – ending with the foot bath, was cute.
L.B. Bryant: I honestly had no idea what that was until they actually said it towards the end of the episode.
Anthony Simpson: That was a nice touch to see them at the foot baths.
Samantha Ferreira: Yeah… seems to be one of those “you have to have seen it to know it” things. It was just a lot of great character bits, though – Saki being a troublemaker, Sakura and Junko at the shrine, Tae Yamada being Tae Yamada…
L.B. Bryant: I was able to enjoy the characters in this episode a lot more this time around. I remember the first time I watched this series, I wasn’t enamored with the characters yet by this point. I won’t say why because spoilers but the next episode is the one that slowly started to turn it around for me.
Samantha Ferreira: I did also… there’s a lot that seems to land on a second watching. That said, Tatsumi has an interesting way of hiding the fact that he’s meeting with high-powered executives
Anthony Simpson: For as shady as he seems he doesn’t seem to have trouble meeting big shots
Samantha Ferreira: Indeed. On that note… the girls brought up a good point. How are they zombies when Japan cremates their deceased?
Anthony Simpson: I’m curious about that myself
Samantha Ferreira: Likewise.
Any final thoughts this week?
Anthony Simpson: Looking forward to see what next week brings
L.B. Bryant: I’m looking forward to Anthony’s reaction to next week.
Samantha Ferreira: Hehe, same.
And that’s all the time we have this week. Til next time, remember: It’s illegal to practice medicine unless you’re a doctor or a zombie. Have a great night!
L.B. Bryant: Night
Anthony Simpson: Good night
