It seems that each Anime Boston finds new ways to add to the electric hum that emanates from fans’ excitement, as attendees embark upon the spacious halls of the Hynes Convention Center. This year’s event proved to be no different, as fans adorned with branded lanyards filtered into the convention center, forming what could rightly be called a rolling sea of people.

Still, there was a cheerful, carefree energy that seemed to spread from one fan to the next, as friends and strangers alike chatted with one another like old friends. It was a happy familiarity, that everybody was excited to take part in.

Like previous years, Anime Boston 2023 saw literal thousands of cosplayers wandering the event, as they brought their very best to the Hynes. From Love Live! to Madoka Magica, nearly every series a person could imagine found a representative through cosplay.

I should note that this year, Anime Boston relaxed its masking policy. As such, many had opted to go without protection. Those who did, though, displayed great creativity in making KN-95s and other protective gear a part of their costumes.

I’d like to extend my deepest thanks to everybody featured in this segment. You’re all amazing, and Anime Boston wouldn’t be the same without you.
