SANTA MONICA, CA (October 1, 2017) – At their industry panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta (Atlanta, GA), Aniplex of America announced the official CD imports for the two Durarara!! titles, DRRRWRAPPING!! DRRR!! BEST CD & DVD Combo (IMPORT) and DRRR!! The Greatest Hits – Sweet Strange Memories (Makoto Yoshimori) (IMPORT). Both of these releases will be available on October 10th with pre-orders beginning on October 2nd. On top of the eccentric characters that drew the fan base to the series, the music of the franchise was essential in bringing the innovative Durarara!! world to life.

DRRRWRAPPING!! DRRR!! BEST CD & DVD Combo (IMPORT) includes the best of the opening and ending songs from both Durarara!! and Durarara!!x2. The artists credited for these songs include FLOW and ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D that are loved by fans both within and outside of the anime realm. One can already visualize the Ikebukuro gang waving their hands up at the sky when they hear the eclectic mix of hip hop and pop.

In addition to the theme songs that we all recognize from the series’ openings and endings, DRRR!! The Greatest Hits – Sweet Strange Memories (Makoto Yoshimori) (IMPORT) brings the soundtracks from the series by Makoto Yoshimori (Natsume Yujin-Cho). Yoshinori’s composition for the Durarara!! series are oftentimes especially praised as one of his best works. Anime Instrumentality reviews the tracks, “From the very start, ‘Ikebukuro nishiguchi go mata-ro kosaten’s’ cacophony of instruments creates multiple layers that are weaved together into a jazzy fabric with a Middle Eastern touch that depicts the plots taking place in the show’s setting of Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district.”
