Sentai Filmworks Lands “Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?”

HOUSTON, TX, March 30, 2019 — Sentai Filmworks announced today that it acquired exclusive rights to the ecchi comedy series Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!? through a worldwide license arrangement (excluding Japan and Asia).

Ichiro Sato is about as average as a student can get… except for his above-average ability to land himself in totally awkward, intensely risqué situations with his no-nonsense teacher, Kana Kojima! Ichiro has his hands full dealing with these steamy shenanigans and unexpected encounters in the most unlikely places. At least it can’t get any worse, right?

The series will be animated by tear-studio (The Royal Tutor Movie), and it will be directed by Hiraku Kaneko (The Qwaser of Stigmata, Tsurezure Children). The series stars Sumire Uesaka (Love, Chunibyo & Other DelusionsiDOLm@ster CINDERELLA GIRLS) as Kana Kojima, Ryota Suzuki (DOREIKU The AnimationTsurune) as Ichiro Sato, Toshiki Masuda (My Hero Academia, IDOLiSH7) as Rin Suzuki and Yuko Goto (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Hidamari Sketch) as Mayu Matsukaze.

The series will be available for the Spring 2019 simulcast season to stream on select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.
