The irregular at magic high school TV series!

SANTA MONICA, CA (August 10, 2018) – Aniplex of America announced today at their industry panel at Otakon (Washington, D.C.) that all 26 episodes of the TV series The irregular at magic high school will be available as a complete Blu-ray box set for the first time later this year. Fans will join infamous siblings, Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, in their first year at National Magic University First Affiliate High School including the “Enrollment” arc, the “Nine Schools Competition” arc, and the “Yokohama Disturbance” arc. The complete box set comes in a beautifully illustrated box by the character designer of the light novel, manga, and anime for the series, Kana Ishida, and contains seven Blu-ray discs with textless openings and endings, trailers, commercials, and seven delightfully charming “Get to Know Magic Studies” short videos. The irregular at magic high school Complete Blu-ray Box Set will be available on October 16, 2018 and currently accepting pre-orders.

Based on the best-selling light novel series with over 8 million copies sold by author Tsutomu Sato, The irregular at magic high school anime series premiered in spring of 2014 and produced by renowned studio MADHOUSE Inc., who is responsible for many fan favorite shows including Cardcaptor Sakura, Death Note, One Punch Man, and No Game, No Life. The series is directed by Manabu Ono (the Asterisk War, Sword Art Online – Alicization – ) with music by acclaimed composer Taku Iwasaki, who’s iconic work includes music for Gurren Lagann, Black Butler, and Bungo Stray Dogs. The magical siblings are voiced by Yuichi Nakamura (Durarara!!, Record of Grancrest War, Oreimo) as the underachieving older brother, Tatsuya Shiba, and Saori Hayami (Your lie in April, Sword Art Online, anohana –The Flower We Saw That Day-) as the ever doting younger sister, Miyuki Shiba. Carl Kilminger of Anime News Network writes in a 2014 review of the series, “The action is expertly assembled and appropriately slick, with Tatsuya and his friends’ magical weakness adding a good measure of risk and an even better measure of root-for-the-underdog satisfaction. Even the inevitable magical mysteries are handled well, hinted at in passing but not over-obfuscated or thrown in our faces. It is, all in all, just an attractive, intelligent, and put-together kind of show.”

About The irregular at magic high school:
Magic— A century has passed since this concept has been recognized as a formal technology instead of the product of the occult or mere folklore.

At the National Magic University First Affiliate High School, A.K.A Magic High School, students are divided into two distinct groups according to their academic performances. The “Bloom,” who demonstrate the highest grades and are enrolled in the “First Course,” and the “Weed,” who have a poor academic record and are enrolled in the “Second Course.”

This spring, a very peculiar brother and sister enroll as new students. Older brother Tatsuya is an underachiever with some deficiencies and enrolls as a “Weed,” while his younger sister Miyuki is an honor student, who enrolls as a “Bloom.” Ever since these two have entered through the gates of this prestigious school, the calm campus was beginning to change…
