First Details, Color Page of Attack on Avengers Hits The Web

Attack on Avengers - Color Internal - 20141114

Well, this is certainly interesting!

The first page of the long-teased Avengers cross-over with Hajime Iseyama’s Attack on Titan is finally hitting newsstands. The story, titled Attack on Avengers features members from several Marvel properties, including The AvengersSpider-Man, and Guardians of the Galaxy as they do battle Titans, whose line-up includes the Female Titan, Colossal Titan, and Armored Titan among others.

The story was plotted by Attack on Titan creator Hajime Iseyama, and features English dialogue, which is accompanied by a Japanese translation guide. The rest of the team is certainly impressive, and made up of the following:

  • Scenario: Hajime Isayama
  • Breakdown: C.B. Cebulski
  • Line Artist: Gerardo Sandoval
  • Color Artist: Dono Sanchez Almara
  • Assistant Editor: Jake Thomas
  • Editor: Tom Brevoort
  • Editor in Chief: Axel Alonso
  • Chief Creative Officer: Joe Quesada
  • Publisher: Dan Buckley
  • Executive Producer: Alan Fine

Executive roles aside, the real attention is on the artist, colorist, and editors.

Gerardo Sandoval is a fairly new face in Marvel, who’s contributed to Wolverine, Thunderbolts, and Guardians 3000. Dono Sanchez Almara, whose name doesn’t come up as often in conversation, is the author of webcomic Turbo Defiant.

Jake Thomas is an industry vet, with a number of major titles under his belt. This includes several issues in Age of Ultron, Avengers, and Marvel Zombies. The same goes for Tom Brevoort, who’s overseen New Avengers, Civil War, and Fantastic Four among a number of other prominent works.

Add in Iseyama at the helm, and this is a team that can present a fantastic story.

In addition to the first page teaser, artist Gerardo Sandoval revealed the art for a limited-edition print that he’ll be selling at Mexico City’s Festo Comic convention.
