Samantha Ferreira: Hi everyone, and welcome to the Herald Anime Club. I’m here with Anthony this week to discuss more Zombie Land Saga. This week it’s Episode 10: Revenge of the Isekai Truck

Still from Zombie Land Saga Episode 10, which shows a pink-haired girl being hit by a truck.

Anthony Simpson: Truck-kun strikes again.

Samantha Ferreira: Definitely. I thought it was hilarious that it was the exact same truck, too

Anthony Simpson: I didn’t notice until you mentioned that it was the same truck

Samantha Ferreira: It’s a weird thing I noticed on the second watch-through.

And frankly, I loved the way this episode played out – the whole genre-change for the mountain segment was just so fun

Anthony Simpson: I loved the mountain segment.

Samantha Ferreira: Likewise. It was great to see everyone just dive into their own thing, whether it was Junko fishing, Ai hunting, Lily handling the fire, or The Great Tae Yamada building snow structures

Still from Zombie Land Saga Episode 10, which depicts a dark-haired woman in a parka raising her hand in victory as she sits in front of a giant snow sculpture of a dog.

Anthony Simpson: So Tae going after the boar was my favorite part in the whole mountain part.

Samantha Ferreira: Likewise. That and the whole “PLAY DEAD :0 *shomp*” bit

Then there was the bit with Tatsumi and Yugiri in the bar

That was just delightfully absurd

Anthony Simpson: Another favorite scene of mine.

Samantha Ferreira: The whole flow of that scene, from Yugiri stepping in to do a Geisha bit, to her giving the impassioned speech, to Tatsumi just going “Didn’t… didn’t I just say that?” all meekly was great

Anthony Simpson: YES.

Still from Zombie Land Saga Episode 10, which depicts a brown-haired woman in a kimono glaring fiercely at the camera.

Samantha Ferreira: The big, over-the-top sakuga during it all just sold the whole thing

Anthony Simpson: exactly.

Samantha Ferreira: Then there was the little idol bit, where you finally saw where the crew just clicked – it was a great insight into the characters as a whole

Anthony Simpson: I enjoyed that part. Especially Sakura seeing that the other members all clicked and realizing when they clicked.

Samantha Ferreira: Likewise. It was a bit schmaltzy and hammy, but they really made up for it with the revenge of Truck-kun

…Speaking of…

Poor Sakura. Hit by two isekai trucks and she still hasn’t gone to a magical world

Still from Zombie Land Saga Episode 10, which shows a red-haired zombie woman grinning eagerly as she lays down.

Anthony Simpson: True.

Samantha Ferreira: That said, she did get her memories back this time

Anthony Simpson: That we did. More so than just the bits we saw earlier where a bit of was coming to the surface.

Samantha Ferreira: Yeah.. that’s definitely a cliffhanger to leave the episode on, as you know there’ll be a few real drama bombs.

Anthony Simpson: Yep.

Samantha Ferreira: That said, I feel a little sad that we never got our Yugiri or Tae Yamada spotlight episodes

Anthony Simpson: I wonder if we are going to get those in Season 2?

Samantha Ferreira: I hope so. I’d love to see more insight on both of them, since Yugiri has this aura of mystery about her, and Tae is just Tae.

Still from Zombie Land Saga Episode 10, which features a brown-haired zombie woman standing beside a man in sunglasses. Both are wearing worried expressions

Anthony Simpson: True.

Samantha Ferreira: Anyway, with the big finale looming, what are your predictions for what’s next?

Anthony Simpson: I’m not sure what is going to happen next. Sakura getting her memories is leading to something I don’t know what it is leading to exactly.

Samantha Ferreira: I can’t wait to discuss the big finale with you.

Aniwho, that’s all the time we have for this week. Til next time, remember: idols are the deadliest hunters of all.

Have a great night!

Anthony Simpson: Good night
