Among the Love Live! idols, tsundere songstress Maki Nishikino stands as one of the most popular. The reserved redhead has a devoted following of fans across the globe, who show their affection wherever they can, be it on Twitter, Facebook, or even Reddit.

You know what? Before we get rolling, let’s get some mood music going:

That’s better.

Where was I? Oh, right! Today is Maki Nishikino’s birthday, and it’s the fans’ turn to show their appreciation for μ’s beauty with crimson locks. Across the globe, Maki’s most dedicated followers have gone above and beyond to create their own displays of adoration for the character.

Artists of all stripes, from devoted Pixiv users, to celebrities like Noizi Ito (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) and Aoi Nishimata (Shuffle!) have produced gorgeous artwork. Stores set up displays devoted to Maki’s greatest hits, and cosplayers have put out their best portrayals of the character.

Even the Official Love Live! game celebrated with a special gift to players:
