M.A.O. Narrates First Hinako Note Anime PV

Hinako’s ready to tell the world a bit more about her crazy world.

Earlier today, the official Hinako Note anime website updated with a new promotional video. The 50-second teaser, which is narrated by Hinako actress M.A.O., offers an overview of the show’s plot and setting.

Hinako Note will hit Japanese TV in April 2017. The series, which adapts Mitsuki’s manga of the same name, will be directed by Toru Kitahata (Haganai NEXT, Love, Election and Chocolate) at Passione. Takeo Takahashi (Spice and Wolf, MAOYU) will serve as chief director on the project, while Kazuyuki Ueda (Hello!! KINMOZA, Kinmoza! Kiniro + Mosaic) provides character designs. Tatsuhiko Urahata (GATE, Monster) is in charge of series composition.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Hinako Sakuragi: M.A.O
  • Chiaki Ogino: Hisako Tōjō
  • Yua Nakajima: Marika Kōno
  • Kuina Natsugawa: Miyu Tomita
  • Mayuki Hiiragi: Yui Ogura
  • Ruriko Kuroyanagi: Yuri Yoshida

The Hinako Note manga first kicked off in the pages of Comic Cune magazine in 2014. The four-panel comedy revolves around Hinako, an introverted girl whose quirky friends and and connection to animals leads to hilarity. For example, sometimes she ends up being used as a scarecrow while others see Hinako encountering surprise visitors in the local library.
