Darker Than Black Season 1 To Get Limited Edition Blu-Ray Set

This May, the North American Blu-Ray market is going to get a bit darker. One could even say that it’ll be Darker Than Black.

Wow… that was terrible.

Bad jokes aside, FUNimation announced that the first season of Darker Than Black is getting a Blu-Ray release. The series will hit stores in a special-edition set, which will be limited to 5,000 units.

The Darker Than Black set will include the following:

  • Specialty “Classified” Packaging
  • 48-page Art Book
  • Display Easel

The set will carry a retail price of $99.98, while supplies last. At the moment, the estimated release date is May 12, 2015.

To promote the release, FUNimation posted a one-minute trailer to their YouTube channel.

No other Blu-Ray releases for the show were confirmed, but FUNimation’s blog post states that, “depending on how well this release does there might be a possibility for other releases in the future.”
