Crunchyroll Starts Streaming DearS, Diebuster

Crunchyroll’s days are filled with alien servants and Space Terrible Monster Crowds.

Earlier today, the streaming service announced that they added DearS and Diebuster to their catalog. Both shows are currently available in their entirety to both free and paying members in subtitled format.

Dub fans are in luck, as well. DearS is also available in English dubbed format, which features Geneon’s 2005 dub by New Generation Pictures.

DearS is a 2004 series based on Peach-Pit’s manga of the same name. The series was directed by Iku Suzuki (Kodocha, Maze: The Mega-Burst Space) at studio Daume (Hanaukyo Maid Team, Please Teacher!). Shinji Ochi (Shiki) provided the show’s character designs.

In North America, Geneon Animation released the title on DVD.

Diebuster, also known as Gunbuster 2, is a 6-episode OVA by Gainax. Kazuya Tsurumaki (FLCL, Evangelion 1.0) helmed the title, while Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Summer Wars) provided character designs.

Bandai Visual USA originally released the series in North America in 2007. Most recently, the series has been released in the west by Discotek Media.
