RECALL: Viz Launches Sailor Moon R Disc Replacement Program


Moon Recall Power, Make Up!

Yesteday, Viz Media outlined a replacement program for their recent release of Sailor Moon R Set 2.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will offer free replacements for Disc 2 disks (both Blu-ray and DVD). To claim their replacement, customers will need to call 1-800-553-­6937 to provide their name and address to which the replacement can be mailed, as well as a contact phone number.

Retailers are being asked to contact their representatives, or to e-mail [email protected] for details on a replacement.

Sailor Moon R Disc Replacement Details

The recall is in regards to an audio glitch on Sailor Moon R Set 2. Episode 80 on the Japanese audio track loses sync with the video. This affects both the DVD and the Blu-Ray editions of the show.
The issue was first addressed on October 30, with the following statement:

Sailor Moon R Set 2 Boxart 001 - 20151107We discovered an audio-visual issue with our recent release of SAILOR MOON Season 2 Set 2, located in episode 80, on disc #2 of both the Blu-ray/DVD combo and standard DVD editions. The issue does not affect the rest of the set.

We, along with legions of SAILOR MOON fans, were excited to see the latest adventures of the Sailor Guardians. We are deeply sorry for the issue.

We are working on a replacement solution for fans who have already purchased the set, and details will be announced as soon as possible. Updates will be posted here, as well as through social media:
