Keepers of the sweet treats, beware! Hotaru’s coming and she’s ready for a sugar rush.
The latest issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine unveiled the main cast and theme song information for the Dagashi Kashi anime series. The confirmed cast members are as follows:
- Hotaru Shidare: Ayana Taketatsu
- Kokonotsu Shikada: Atsushi Abe
- Yō Shikada: Keiji Fujiwara
- Saya Endō: Manami Numakura
- Tō Endō: Tatsuhisa Suzuki
Taketatsu will also perform the show’s ending theme song, Hey! Calorie Queen. Michi will perform opening theme Checkmate!?
Dagashi Kashi is based on Kotoyama’s manga of the same name. The series is being directed by Shigehito Takayanagi (The World God Only Knows) at studio feel. Takayanagi will also oversee the show’s scripts with Yasuko Kamo (Galaxy Angel A). Character designs will be handled by Kanetoshi Kamimoto (Burst Angel).
The Dagashi Kashi anime will hit Japanese TV in January 2016. TBS and BS-TBS are both confirmed to be showing the series.
