AkibaFest Unveils First Guests, Kizumonogatari Part 2 Premiere


AkibaFest Logo 001 - 20160902Vampires and artists are ready bring a bit of Akiba to Little Tokyo! No, this isn’t some cheesy video game plot.

Earlier today, Aniplex of America launched a new version of their AkibaFest website, which reveals several guests and events that will be held over the weekend.

The confirmed guests include:

  • Ei Aoki (Director: Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero) 
  • Keigo Sasaki (Character Designer: The Seven Deadly Sins, Blue Exorcist)
  • Masayoshi Tanaka (Character Designer: Your Name., Toradora!)
  • Hiroyuki Shimizu (President of A-1 Pictures)
  • Atsuhiro Iwakami (President of Aniplex Inc.)
  • Makicha (AkibaFest Mascot Artist)

In addition, AkibaFest will host the North American theatrical première of Kizumonogatari Part 2: Nekketsu-hen, which will be screened at the Aratani Theater on October 15 at 6:00PM. Tickets for the show will cost $15.

  • 7/15/2016: The Garden of Sinners Chapter 1: Thanatos (Aratani Theater at 2:30PM, $15, Subtitled)

  • 7/15/2016: Blue Exorcist – the Movie (4:30PM at Downtown Independent Theatre, $12)
  • 7/15/2016: The Anthem of the Heart (6:30PM at Downtown Independent Theatre, $12)
  • 7/16/2016: Mobile Suit Gundam -the Origin- I, II, III (11:30AM at Downtown Independent Theatre, $20)
  • 7/16/2016: Anohana -The Flower We Saw that Day- the Movie (4:00PM at Downtown Independent Theatre, $12)

AkibaFest will be held on October 15 and 16. Ticket sales opened today, and can be purchased on the main convention site via Universe.com. Weekend passes are priced at $25, while single-day admission costs $15. Confirmed events include:

Aniplex of America first unveiled AkibaFest at Anime Expo. The event, which is a cooperative venture between Aniplex and various gaming and anime publishers, aims to bring together the most popular aspects of Akihabara culture.
