It looks like another show is being pulled back into the Aniplex Vault.
Earlier today, Funimation announced that their rights to both seasons of Sekirei are slated to expire. The company will be unable to stream the series, nor will they be able to reprint DVDs after February 9.
Sekirei is based on Sakurako Gokurakuin’s harem action manga series of the same name. The show, which debuted in Summer 2008, was directed by Keizou Kusakawa (Fuuka, KanColle) at studio Seven Arcs, with Shinpei Tomooka (Trinity Seven, Inukami!) providing character designs. Takao Yoshioka (High School DxD, Watamote) was in charge of series composition on the project.
Funimation describes the show as:
Minato had no luck with the ladies until a warrior babe named Musubi fell into his life. Hunted by a pair of twin sisters, Musubi was searching for the right guy to unlock her hidden powers. Minato fit the bill, and now he’s caught in the middle of a supernatural slugfest where voluptuous vixens take turns beating each others’ clothes off!
