“Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon” Debuts on Disney XD On 5/12/2017

On Monday, Disney and The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon will début on Disney XD on May 12. The series will kick off with two episodes on May 12, at 9:00PM. Starting on May 13th, new episodes will air on Saturdays at 9:00AM.

Previously, the Pokémon Company reported that Disney signed a multi-year agreement for the Pokémon anime series. The first title in the deal, Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion and the Mechanical Marvel, aired on December 5.

pokemon-sun-moon-anime-visual-001-20161117Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon is the latest entry in the Pokémon anime franchise. The title, which is based on the 3DS games of the same name, is being helmed by Daiki Tomiyasu (Pikaia!, Pocket Monsters: The Origin Episode 4) at Oriental Light and Magic. The team of Satoshi Nakano and Shūhei Yasuda are providing character designs, while Aya Matsui (Ghost Sweeper Mikami, Dragon Ball GT) takes charge of series composition.

The series began airing in Japan on November 17, 2016. To date, 22 episodes have been produced.
