Streaming Anime Service HIDIVE Opens Its Doors as a Public Beta

You know, any service that lets you watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes legally is okay in my books.

Well… when it’s not giving 403 errors… … … That was a joke.

Earlier today, streaming anime platform HIDIVE kicked off as a public beta. The service is open to users across the globe, with a subscription cost of $3.99 per month for users across the globe. A seven-day trial is currently being offered to new users.

HIDIVE will offer HD streams of shows in subtitled and dubbed formats, with options to customize the player. According to the press release, the platform offers the following within the player window:

  • Toggle-able subtitle colors (white and yellow)
  • Video quality selection
  • Hot-swap language options

Other confirmed features include in-episode live chat and pinned show searches.

HIDIVE’s launch lineup includes:

  • Amagi Brilliant Park
  • Himouto! Umaru-chan
  • Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
  • Legend of the Galactic Heroes

HIDIVE will also offer select Summer 2017 simulcasts, though specific titles have yet to be revealed.

In addition to the core service, HIDIVE rolled out their social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter.

Update: The HIDIVE website seems to have stabilized a bit more, so we can give a bit more depth in the reporting.

HIDIVE offers an ad-supported free streaming option for registered users. Free users are able to access subtitled 480p streams of shows. Subtitle options and the chat are still available to free users.
