Wake Up, Girls! Shin Shō Anime Gets New Cast, Premiere Date


It looks like Wake Up, Girls! fans will be waking up on October 9 for this new season!

Earlier today, the official Wake Up, Girls! website revealed four new cast members for upcoming anime Wake Up, Girls! Shin Shō (Wake Up, Girls! New Chapter). The following will join the crew:

  • Kohei Matsuda: Shintaro Asanuma
  • Junko Tange: Noriko Hidaka
  • Tooru Shiraki: Mitsuru Miyamoto
  • Tasuku Hayasaka: Kenichi Suzumura

All four previously appeared in the Wake Up, Girls! anime franchise and will reprise their roles for the new title. visuals for the four characters were also unveiled, which you can check out below:

In addition to the cast reveals, a visual was unveiled, which confirms an October 9 premiere date for Wake Up, Girls! Shin Shō.

Shin Itagaki will replace Yutaka “Yamakan” Yamamoto as director for Wake Up, Girls! Shin Shō at Millepensee. Miyuki Sugawara will replace Sunao Chikaoka, who is now credited with “Original Character Design.” The scripts and original story are credited to Green Leaves.

The team of Satoru Kousaki and monaca will return to compose the soundtrack at Dive II animation.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Ayumi Hayashi: Koko Hayashi
  • Otome Morishima: Yūka Morishima
  • Itsuka Atsugi: Nanami Atsugi

Hayashi, Morishima, and Atsugi won their roles in this year’s “Avex x 81 Produce Wake Up, Girls! Audition Dai-3-Kai Anisong Vocal Audition.” The three will make up in-show idol unit “Run Girls, Run!” Moreover, the girls will also band together in a real-life idol unit under the same name.
