DARLING in the FRANXX Anime Introduces 2 Main Characters in New Trailer


We met the FRANXX, now it’s time to meet the rest!

Earlier today, the official DARLING in the FRANXX Twitter account updated with a new teaser trailer. The 30-second trailer introduces two new characters, along with their FRANXX.

The male lead is named Code:016 (“Hiro”), while the female lead goes by “Code:002” (“Jealousy”). They both pilot th Strelizia FRANXX unit.

According to the previous trailer, FRANXX is a “steel maiden,” a humanoid robot shaped like a woman, who can also be piloted.

DARLING in the FRANXX is a co-production between Trigger and A-1 Pictures. Atsushi Nishigori (THE IDOLM@STER) is directing the project, with Masayoshi Tanaka (anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, High School of the Dead) providing character designs. The team of Atsushi Nishigori and Naotaka Hayashi will collaborate on series composition.

  • Chief Animation Director: Masayoshi Tanaka
  • Mechanical Design: Shigeto Koyama
