Funimation Streams “The Morose Mononokean” Dub Trailer

While he may be morose, you have every right to enjoy a few laughs.

Earlier today, Funimation started streaming an English dub teaser for The Morose Mononokean. The 40-second trailer features snippets of character dialogue to provide the major story beats.

It should be noted that Funimation hasn’t confirmed the show’s Engish cast as of press time.

Funimation will release The Morose Mononokean on home video on January 16. The company will ship the title in a single Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack, which will retail for $64.98.

The Morose Mononokean is based on Kiri Wazawa’s manga of the same name. Akira Iwanaga (Tegami Bachi: Letter BeeCorpse Party: Missing Footage) directed the project, which aired in the Summer 2016 broadcast season, at Pierrot Plus. Atsuko Kageyama provided character designs, while Takao Yoshioka (Elfen Lied, Watamote) took charge of series composition.

Funimation describes the show as:

Ashiya Hanae’s life is turned upside down when he’s possessed by a yokai! His only help comes in Abeno Haruitsuki, a handsome young man known as the “Master of the Mononokean.” But his aid comes at a price, one that has Ashiya working as his assistant to pay it off! Can they stop bickering with each other long enough to help the yokai trapped in this world?
