Yuuki Kaji Plays Tōma Akechi in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. Season 2

It’s time to meet the gabby transfer student that’s about to make Saiki K’s life a little more disastrous.

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (Issue 50) revealed a new cast member for the second season of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.. Yuuki Kaji will play talkative transfer student Tōma Akechi in the series.

Other new characters for the season include ultra normal guy Hiroshi Satō and sexy gyaru Mikoto Aiura. Mikoto’s actress will be revealed in next week’s issue.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. returns to Japanese TV in January. Much of the first season’s cast will return to reprise their roles.

The first season of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., which is based on Shūichi Asō’s manga of the same name, was directed by Hiroaki Sakurai (Cromartie High School, Maid Sama!) at studios Egg Firm and J.C. Staff. Masayuki Onji (Aria the Avvenire, Cromartie High School) provided character designs for the project, while Michiko Yokote (Genshiken, Prison School) is took charge of series composition.

Funimation currently holds the rights to the The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. anime. They describe the show as:

Saiki Kusuo is a typical 16-year-old high school student… except he has psychic powers. He can use them to get whatever he wants, but he also knows everything that people are thinking. Everything. No surprises, no secrets, no normal human experiences. He’s kept his powers in check since childhood, but with the temptations of high school now on his mind, he’s bending the rules—and spoons.
