“Children of the Whales” Anime Gets Global Netflix Release on 3/13/2018


The song of the whale shall reach those far beyond the horizon, soon enough.

Earlier today, the official Children of the Whales (Kujira no Kora wa Sajō ni Utau) anime website updated with news that details on the show’s global première. The series will hit Netflix across the globe on March 13. The show’s Netflix page is available, and includes a brief synopsis:

As a magic wielder, young archivist Chakuro knows his time is short, but everything changes when a girl from the outside appears on his island.

The title originally aired during the Fall 2017 broadcast season.

Children of the Whales is based on Abi Umeda’s manga of the same nam. Kyōhei Ishiguro (Your Lie in April, Occultic;Nine) is directing the project at J.C. Staff, with Haruko Iizuka (School-Live!, Little Busters) providing character designs. Michiko Yokote (ReLIFE, Shirobako) is in charge of the show’s scripts.
