Akkun to Kanojo Anime Gets Core Cast, New Visual

This cast is here, but that doesn’t mean they’re here for you, or anything!

Earlire today, the official Akkun to Kanojo (Akkun and his Girlfriend) anime website updated with the show’s core cast and a key visual. We break the details down below.

Key Visual

The new visual features Ayaka Suwa, cradled in boyfriends Tatsuhisa Suzuki’s arms. She’s smiling, but he’s wearing a grimace. A thought balloon shows him secretly enjoying the moment, though. The two are flanked by side characters Keisuke Ueda and Arisa Kōri.

Cast

The series will star the following:

  • Atsuhiro “Akkun” Kagari: Tatsuhisa Suzuki
  • Non “Nontan” Katagiri: Ayaka Suwa
  • Masago Matsuo: Keisuke Ueda
  • Chiho Kagari: Arisa Kōri

Visuals for the characters were also released, which you can check out below.

Akkun to Kanojo hits Japanese TV this spring.

Shin Katagai (Neo Angelique Abyss, Eyeshield 21) was tapped to direct the series at Yumeta Company, with Motohiro Taniguchi (Yuruyuri San Hai!) providing character designs. Yuka Yamada (Neo Angelique Abyss, Samurai Warriors) is in charge of series composition.

Waka Kakitsubata ‘s Akkun to Kanojo launched in the pages of Kadokawa’s Monthly Comic Gene in June 2013. The series boasts over 480,000 books in print. In addition to the print sources, the title is available on Pixiv.

Manga resource Baka-Updates describes the title as:

The romantic comedy follows the everyday life of an extremely tsundere (initially aloof and abrasive, but later kind-hearted) boy named Atsuhiro “Akkun” Kagari and his girlfriend Non “Nontan” Katagiri. Akkun’s behavior is harsh towards Nontan with verbal abuse and neglect, but he actually is head-over-heels for her and habitually acts like a stalker by tailing her or eavesdropping. Nontan is oblivious to Akkun’s stalker ways, and thinks his actions are cute.
