The latest issue of Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex magazine (April 2018) announced that Masamune-kun’s Revenge will receive a new OVA/Original Anime Disc. New details on the project will be unveiled in the magazine’s May issue, which hits retailers in March.
The Masamune-kun’s Revenge anime aired in the Winter 2017 broadcast season.
Mirai Minato (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya) directed the series at Silver Link, with Yuki Sawairi providing character designs. Michiko Yokote (Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!, Genshiken) was in charge of series composition.
Crunchyroll streamed the show as a simulcast, while Funimation produced a simuldub. Funimation describes the title as:
As a child, Masamune Makabe was mercilessly teased about his weight and cruelly nicknamed โPigโs Footโ by a young girl named Aki Adagaki. Years later, Masamune continues to hold resentment and decides to seek revenge against his tormenter. Now, handsome and in top shape, he returns to exact vengeance on Aki! But as he gets closer to her, he finds his heart desires something other than revenge.
Hazuki Takeoka and illustrator Tiv’s Masamune-kun’s Revenge manga originally launched in the pages of Monthly Comic Rex in 2012. The ongoing series currently spans nine compiled volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on February 5.
Seven Seas holds the rights to the Masamune-kun’s Revenge manga in North America.
