Children of the Whales Anime Launches on Netflix


The time has come, and the sea of sand shall be explored anew.

Earlier today, Netflix started streaming the Children of the Whales anime on their digital platform. The series is available worldwide, with audio in English, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish. Subtitles are available in English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), and Spanish.

The title originally aired during the Fall 2017 broadcast season.

Children of the Whales is based on Abi Umeda’s manga of the same name. Kyōhei Ishiguro (Your Lie in April, Occultic;Nine) directed the project at J.C. Staff, with Haruko Iizuka (School-Live!, Little Busters) providing character designs. Michiko Yokote (ReLIFE, Shirobako) was in charge of the show’s scripts.

Netflix describes the title as:

As a magic wielder, young archivist Chakuro knows his time is short, but everything changes when a girl from the outside appears on his island.
