You know, I am on-board for this show, if only for Llen’s rockin’ kitty hat.
Earlier today, the official Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online anime website updated with a new teaser trailer. The 105-second promo introduces the show’s main plot beats through character dialogue, as opening theme song Ryūsei plays as a background track.

Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online will hit Japanese TV on April 7, with the full broadcast schedule as follows:

Masayuki Sakoi (Celestial Method, Kamen no Maid Guy) was tapped to direct the project at Studio 3Hz, with Yoshio Kosakai pulling double duty as character designer and chief animation director. Yousuke Furoda (Gundam Build Fighters, My Hero Academia) is in charge of series composition for the title.
Eir Aoi will perform opening theme song Ryūsei (Falling Star). Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Llen in the series, will perform closing theme To See the Future.

Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online launched under Dengeki’s Dengeki Bunko imprint in December 2014. The series currently spans six volumes, with the most recent hitting stores on March 10. A manga adaptation by Sigsawa and artist Tadadi Tamori launched in Dengeki Maoh magazine in 2015. The second volume will hit Japanese bookstores on November 10.
Aniplex of America holds the rights to Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online in the west. They describe the show as:
In the world of guns and steel that is Gun Gale Online, LLENN has been a devoted, female solo player. She is obsessed with two things: donning herself entirely in pink and honing her skills with consistent game play. She soon discovers her love for hunting other players (a.k.a. PK), soon to be known as the “Pink Devil.”
Meanwhile, LLENN meets a beautiful yet mysterious player, Pitohui, and the two click right away. Doing as she is told by Pitohui, she enters the Squad Jam group battle.
Yen Press currently holds the domestic rights to the Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online manga. They’ll release the first volume on November 17.
