“We Never Learn” Anime Gets New Trailer, & Visual, 2 Cast Members


Is it ironic that we’re learning about a show called We Never Learn?

On December 22, fans of all things Shonen Jump flocked to the Makuhari Messe Convention Center for Jump Festa ’19. During a stage show at the event, the We Never Learn anime staff showed off a new teaser trailer and visual, and confirmed a pair of cast members.

We break the details down below.

Trailer

The three-minute teaser introduces the main plot concept, with series lead Ryota Ohsaka narrating, as character dialogue cuts in to preview the major performances.

A short version of the promo was also revealed, though the video is region locked to Japan.

Visual

The new image features the main characters, posing against a smattering of mathematical and geographic diagrams.

The series will add the following:

  • Mafuyu Kirisu: Lynn
  • Asumi Kominami: Madoka Asahina

We Never Learn Anime VisualYoshiaki Masaaki (Hayate the Combat Butler!!, Love Hina) will direct the series at Studio Silver and Arvo Animation, with Masakatsu Sasaki (Seiyu’s Life!, A-Channel) providing character designs. Go Zappa (Blend S, Beatless) is in charge of series composition.

Taishi Tsusui is listed as the original creator for the work.

The confirmed voice cast includes:

  • Nariyuki Yuiga: Ryota Ohsaka
  • Fumino Furuhashi: Haruka Shiraishi
  • Uruka Takemoto: Sayumi Suzushiro
  • Rizu Ogata: Miyu Tomita

Taishi Tsutsui’s We Never Learn launched in the pages of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2017. The series currently spans seven compiled volumes, with the latest hitting stores on July 4.

Viz Media currently distributes We Never Learn in North America. They describe it as:

One boy and two beautiful girls geniuses. Hijinks ensue in one of the latest series from Shonen Jump Japan!

The title made its début in North America as part of Viz’s “Jump Start” initiative, and became a regular title in Weekly Shonen Jump starting in April 2017.
