It seems like the giants of Hollywood are trying to bring this Ghost out of its Shell!

Yesterday, trade publication Variety reported that Paramount Pictures will co-finance and co-produce the upcoming live-action Ghost in the Shell film.

Under the deal, Paramount will handle the film’s international release, while Disney and Dreamworks bring the film out in North American markets.

Dreamworks’s Ghost in the Shell film began to really gain momentum in January. It was at this time that Variety reported Scarlett Johansson’s attachment to the film.

Less than a week later, Dreamworks confirmed that the film was greenlit for production, and that Disney would fund the project. At the time, the film was given an April 14, 2017 première date, though this was moved up to March 31 last month.

The film is slated to begin filming in early 2016. According to news site Deadline, it will receive a 3D version, as well as a standard screening.
