Earlier today, Aniplex of America announced that they released Sword Art Online The Movie -Ordinal Scale- to several digital storefronts. The film is available in both subtitled and dubbed formats on iTunes, Vudu, and the Microsoft Store.
Amazon Video and PlayStation Video releases are also planned, though a specific release date has yet to be disclosed. The release is censored, and carries a purchase price of $12.99 USD. Rentals are priced at $4.99.
Sword Art Online The Movie -Ordinal Scale-‘s subtitled version opened in North American theaters on March 9, 2017. The dubbed adaptation debuted a month later on April 22.
Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale- was first unveiled at the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival on October 4, 2015. Tomohiko Ito directed the feature at A-1 Pictures, with character designs by Shingo Adachi. Series creator Reki Kawahara penned the film’s story.
