“I fall in love with you through a robot” Gets an Anime Movie


Love and robots… what’s not to love?

Earlier today, the official website for Yūsuke Yamada’s Boku wa Robot Goshi no Kimi ni Koi wo Suru (I fall in love with you through a robot) light novels announced that the project will receive a feature film. The site updated with a teaser trailer, which was produced by studio A-1 Pictures.

The 107-second teaser delivers the core story beats through character dialogue.

Artist loundraw provided character designs for the promo. The voice cast for the trailer includes:

  • Saki: Kana Hanazawa
  • Takeru: Miyu Irino
  • Yoichiro: Hidenobu Kiuchi
  • Unspecified: Nana Hayama

Meanwhile, the story’s lead, who works for the AI Robot Technology Institute, is drafted to be part of a top-secret program that involves humanoid robots. Even though he had help from childhood friends Yoichiro and Saki, the lead struggled to reach his goal. Everything changed one day, though, when terrorists strike.

The book shipped to retailers, and sold through more than 170,000 copies. It’s Yamada’s first novel since 2014.
