Monster Musume Anime Casts Junji Majima As Male Lead


Earlier today, the Monster Musume crew rounded out its cast list a bit with its first male cast member. Junji Majima (Chaika the Coffin Princess) will join the series as male lead Kimihito Kurusu.

The Monster Musume anime series was first revealed in March, on the wraparound for the seventh volume of Oyakodo’s Monster Musume manga. Yatterman Night director Tatsuya Yoshihara will helm the series, while studios Lerche (Assassination Classroom) and Seva handle the animation. Tatsuya Sunagawa will handle the dual role of Animation Director and Character Designer, while Shunji Akasaka will back him up as Assistant Character Designer.

The voice cast for the six monster girls was unveiled in two phases. The first three roles were revealed in April, while the remaining three were announced on May 16. On May 30, it was confirmed that Yu Kobayashi would play Interspecies Cultural Exchange coordinator Smith.

The full cast list is as follows:

  • Miia (Lamia): Sora Amamiya
  • Papi (Harpy): Ami Koshimizu
  • Centorea (Centaur): Natsuki Aikawa
  • Meroune “Mero” Lorelei (Mermaid): Huruka Yamazaki
  • Rachnera “Rachnee” Arachnera (Drider): Sakura Nakamura
  • Suu (Slime Girl): Mayuka Nomura
  • Smith: Yu Kobayashi

Monster Musume will hit Japanese TV in July.
