Earlier today, the official Sailor Moon website revealed that the third season of Sailor Moon Crystal will début in the Spring 2016 broadcast season.
Chiaki Kon (Junjo Romantica) will replace Munehisa Sakai, who directed the first two seasons. Akira Takahashi (Smile PreCure) will replace Yukie Sakou as character designer on the project. Series writer Yuji Kobayashi will return to take charge of series composition.
The new cast members for Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Saturn will be unveiled during the Nico Nico Live! streaming program on January 27.

Sailor Moon Crystal made its début on Japanese streaming service NicoNico in July 2014. During its initial run, new episodes aired on the first and third Saturdays of each month. The show’s TV broadcast wrapped up earlier today, which was followed directly by the new season’s reveal.
The show’s third season was officially announced in September 2015, after a false alarm in April. The new season will revolve around the Death Busters arc of the Sailor Moon manga, which brings Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Saturn into the fold.
Viz holds the rights to both Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon Crystal in North America. The series is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, Hulu, Neon Alley, and NicoNico.
